Putnam County Spelling Bee comes to Skokie

(3.1.15) The Devonshire Playhouse Teen performers will present "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," a one-act musical comedy centering on a fictional spelling bee with six quirky adolescent competitors, judged by three equally quirky grown-ups. Four audience members will be invited on stage to compete in the spelling bee alongside the six young characters. The 2005 Broadway production earned good reviews and box-office success and was nominated for six Tony Awards, winning two, including best book.

Performances: Saturdays, March 14 & 21 / 7 p.m. and Sundays, March 15 & 22 / 3 p.m.
